Pray for my uncle...It's critical!

For several years at about this same time, I begin requesting prayer for my favorite uncle.

This year it's more critical than ever. My uncle was once a rock solid Bible-believer, but not any more. Church attendance that was a given in his earlier years is now hit-and-miss at best. He's been drawn away from the Lord and become entangled in pornography and sexual perversion. He shows signs of violent behavior and an overall disregard for life. A scandalous newsbreak that once would've amazed him now seems to amuse him. I notice that my beloved uncle has become angry, self-centered, and discontented. His speech is often peppered with profanity and ugliness, and his mind is groggy with alcohol and drugs. Once a proud defender of truth, my uncle now accepts lying as a way of life; he says he's not sure there is even such a thing as absolute truth. Lately he wonders if we really did all get here by chance rather than by creation.

By now you know I'm talking about my uncle (and yours)--our 'Uncle Sam,' our dear U.S. As we focus on July 4th and celebrate another of Uncle Sam's birthdays, surely we ALL feel the need to pray fervently for him. God, have mercy on US (U.S.)! "If we ever needed the Lord before, we SURE do need Him now!"

Most people don't take time to watch a 30-minute sermon online. I have no reason to believe that will suddenly change with this post. But...
