Prayer Alert!

I've never blogged twice in the same week, but because of some "breaking news," here I go. Three days ago I urged all readers to be registered voters (and I do hope we all WILL vote in the upcoming election, only about 40 days away!); now all of a sudden I turn to PRAYER--particularly during this coming weekend.
The breaking news is twofold: the President saying he plans to choose a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court this weekend, AND a prayer event being held in our city (and nation) during this same weekend!
When the organizers of the prayer event (called "The Return") planned for Saturday, September 26, they couldn't have had the slightest idea that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would have died unexpectedly and a nominee be named on that selected day of prayer. WHO KNEW?!
NOR could they have possibly known that another nationwide prayer event would be happening on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. ON THAT VERY SAME DAY!
Prophetic speaker and author Jonathan Kahn AND evangelist Franklin Graham both began planning months ago for a national call to prayer on September 26, 2020. Neither were aware of the other's plans in the early preparation stages. Now both are converging at the National Mall in a fervent call to prayer; how incredible is that! Christians from everywhere are traveling to Washington to join in either (or both) of these powerful events, featuring well-known speakers, musicians, and intercessors. Any of us would be thrilled to be a part of such a history-making Prayer Meeting!
The good news is, we don't have to travel to D.C. to do so! "THE RETURN" prayer event is also happening right here, in Columbia, TN this Saturday, Sept 26, at 9:00 am, on the Courthouse Square! For readers outside driving distance of Columbia, there may be such an event near you; check out "The Return" online or ask a pastor or lay leader in your area about it.
I don't know the complete background of everyone leading Saturday's prayer service here in our city. Some of their theology may not be the exact same as mine. Some may be more liturgical, others more charismatic. I assume there'll be both Republicans and Democrats in the crowd, male and female, young and old, red and yellow, black and white. I plan to be there, God willing, because as I said in the earlier blog, "if we (in this country and world) EVER needed the Lord before, we SURE do need Him now!"
If you can't get to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. or the Courthouse Square in Columbia, TN this Saturday, you can still participate. Some of the events will be live- streamed, others archived for viewing later; check out Jonathan Kahn and/or Franklin Graham online. PLUS, you can pray right where you are, at home or elsewhere. At some point this weekend set aside an hour, get on your knees (if you're able), and CRY OUT TO GOD FOR AMERICA!
Jesus will RETURN soon, as King of all kings. Our Lord has called us to RETURN to Him, in honest confession and true repentance. If the latter happens, the former could be delayed so more could be saved; therefore our prayer this weekend should be, "Lord, may we return to YOU...so more of us will be ready when You return to THIS WORLD!" Amen, So Be It.
